I hope you enjoy this wide-ranging, rollicking, philosophical and practical conversation between me, my fabulous co-editor Theresa, and two great minds at Koppett, Kat and Livia. In this episode of Dare to be Human, we discuss risk, leaning into discomfort, the power of being average, doing the next thing, and more.
It was very fun to be interviewed by Carley and Natalie of Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend morning news and events show, upon the publication of our first book.
I was honored to spend an hour talking “shop” with three fellow expert practitioners of Applied Improvisation (AI). We start the conversation demonstrating and debriefing two exercises, then touch on what AI is and isn’t (is not comedy/can be filled with laughter and play) all while covering the topic of how AI can be used to develop public speaking skills.
Don Waisanen recently published a must-read book, Improv for Democracy. Krista Hoffman-Longtin helps scientists communicate better with non-experts and contributed an excellent chapter to my first book of case studies. Gary Ware is a Creative Catalyst at Breakthrough Play, helping people in the business world master essential skills (as opposed to “soft” skills).
Big thanks to Nancy Ancowitz for tirelessly supporting Introverts to show up at their best. It was a delight to co-create this conversation with her. Enjoy!
